The Museum of Brands collection includes over 3/4 million objects, representing consumer culture, brands and their evolution over the last 200 years. Adopt an Object helps fund our efforts to care for and conserve our vast collection. With your support, we can continue to tell the stories behind these iconic objects and their impact on our shared history.

This wonderful initiative highlights a range of iconic and fascinating objects from the Museum’s collection, each representing some of the greatest brand stories ever told. From the iconic His Master’s Voice dog from the Edwardian era, through to modern times; there's something of interest for everyone.

How does it work?

Looking for a truly special gift this Christmas? Why not adopt a piece of history? These objects are tied to stories that have shaped generations. It’s a meaningful and memorable way to give back and delight someone special.

We have curated a list of over 40 of the best-loved objects from our collection for you to choose from.

You can adopt an object on an individual, or corporate basis, for yourself, or as a gift for someone else. It’s a gift that not only sparks nostalgia but supports the Museum’s important work. Your adoption helps us conserve and care for the Museum of Brands’ collection, ensuring these objects and their stories continue to inspire future generations.

If you have visited the Museum and have seen an object you would like to adopt that isn't listed, please email us and we will consider your request.

What you receive with adoption:

Certificate of Adoption: Perfect for framing, a lasting reminder of your connection to the object.
Professional Photograph: A high-quality image of your adopted object (note: the copyright remains with the Museum).
Annual Pass: Visit your adopted object throughout the year at the Museum for free.

Just browse below the list of objects we have ready for adoption and learn a little about them. Once you have chosen your special object, press the "Adopt me" button and follow the instructions.

Payment for your Adoption

In the following window, you will learn about your adoption and what you will get from the Museum. Once you have read the T&C, press the "Adopt this object" button to go to the payment portal.

Confirmation of your Adoption

You will receive an e-mail confirming your adoption and proof of purchase from the payment portal. We will then contact you to confirm the details to send your digital certificate and any updates.

Important Note on Ownership

While you adopt an object for a year, it’s essential to understand that ownership of the object remains with the Museum of Brands and its founder, Robert Opie. Your adoption helps support the museum’s work in preserving and showcasing these cherished items.
