April 15, 2025Glass Renewed Talks: Sustainability in Art & design
Event Details

Join us on the 3rd July at 6.30PM for an evening talk by Museum of Brands curator Alice Kain, glass artist Hannah Gibson, and Diageo Global Design Director Jeremy Lindley, exploring the past, present, and future of glass in art and industry.
In this talk, Jeremy will discuss the challenge of marrying sustainability with consumer desire, using the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ultra, the world’s lightest whisky bottle as a case study. Launched in 2024 after five years of innovation, this pioneering design reflects Diageo’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions through smarter packaging.
Hannah Gibson will share her creative process of transforming discarded glass from televisions, windscreens, and old liquor bottles into striking sculptures. Her work honours the past lives of these materials while reimagining their future through sustainable art.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions after the talk.
Tickets are £20, including Museum entry and a drink. Please book online here.
