Branding Britain
Built on Tradition, Shaped by Culture

Â
The Museum of Brands is proud to present Branding Britain: Built on Tradition, Shaped by Culture. Opening 4 June, the exhibition explores how Britian’s enduring identity has been moulded, expressed and exported around the world. Bringing together insight from the Be Distinctive Britain report by Ipsos and JKR in partnership with the British Chambers of Commerce, the exhibition combines bold data visualisation with the museum’s rich storytelling to explore what makes Britain distinctive in today’s global landscape. Â
Visitors will encounter dynamic displays and striking visualisations that reveal how the nation is perceived both at home and abroad, alongside objects and stories from iconic brands including Yorkshire Tea, Lloyds Bank, Marmite, Burberry, Cadbury, Greggs and Dr. Martens, McVitie's and Tilda.
From pioneering design and engineering, featuring names such as Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith, Dyson and Mini, to defining cultural and sporting moments like the 1966 FIFA World Cup, the London 2012 Olympic Games and the influence of iconic British Brands such as the Sex Pistols, Oasis and the Beatles. The exhibition traces how tradition, creativity, humour and innovation continue to shape Britain’s global reputation. Centred around the guiding ideas Be Confident, Be Yourself and Be Culture-First, Branding Britain invites visitors to reflect on how identity is built and how it can evolve for the future.Â
