Museum Director

Hours: 40 per week (32 considered)

Working Pattern: Permanent, Full time role (80% will also be considered). Hybrid, Museum of Brands, London, W11 1QT, at home, approx. 3 days on site/2 at home per week, subject to change.

Salary: £50,000 (pro rata for part time)

Brief Description:

We are looking for a new Director to lead the Museum through a period of consolidation to stabilise its income and its offer, as well as embarking on the next ambitious phase of development as outlined in our 5-year strategy. The successful candidate will be someone who understands the demands of running a small, independent museum as well as being able to deliver its plans for the future. They will be able to work effectively with trustees, team and stakeholders to help the Museum grow and thrive. Key responsibilities are:

Learning Officer

Hours: TBD

Working Pattern: Temporary 12-month contract, full time, 80% also available (temp to perm). Hybrid, Museum of Brands, London, W11 1QT, at home, approx. 3 days on site/2 at home per week, subject to change.

Salary: £27,352 (pro rata for part time)

Brief Description: we are looking for an enthusiastic Learning Officer who can market and deliver of a wide-range learning programmes to children, students and adults, that is financially viable and sustainable, including working with learning partners and funders. Initially a 12-month role, we are confident of securing funding to make this a permanent position. This role will be split between:

  • Marketing
  • Bookings and admin
  • Delivery of sessions

Weekend Duty Manager

Working Pattern: Weekends only, approx, 50/50 split over Saturdays (09:30-18:30) and Sundays (10:30-17:30).  There is potential for additional hours ad hoc as Duty Manager and working for our hires and learning teams.

Location: Museum of Brands, London, W11 1QT  

Salary: £14/hour

Brief Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible weekend Duty Manager.  This role will support the day-to-day running of the museum, including managing volunteers and will support the Museum Manager with front of house tasks including retail management, gift aid and other tasks that are time-limited or particularly suited to weekend shifts.  The role would be well-suited to someone considering a future career or career change to the cultural sector, or a fast-paced return to work or retirement role.   

Freelance Educator

Hours: 09.30-18:30 on site at least once a week and 1 weekend day per 4-6 weeks.

Working Pattern: full time, 60% or 80%, up to 40 hours per week excluding 30-minute lunch break.

Salary: £105.20 per day (8 hours) or £13.15 per hour (London Living Wage)

Brief Description:we are looking for an enthusiastic educator who can manage bookings and deliver workshops for a 4-6 week period, starting asap. We deliver hour-long workshops to children, students and adults, with 4-5 most popular sessions including Brand Evolution (FE & HE) and Chocolate Packaging (schools). This role will also involve managing bookings and invoices for ‘self-guided’ student and school group visits. You will need to be able to hit the ground running, for example, picking up delivery of workshops from day one, with the support of our small friendly team. The main tasks are:

  • Delivery of sessions
  • Bookings and admin
  • Ensuring our safeguarding policy is adhered to
  • Marketing e.g. Social Media posts
  • Managing learning volunteers who support during workshops
