Sensory-Friendly Afternoons
Event Details

Our Sensory-Friendly Afternoons offer a welcoming, relaxed environment with reduced noise, softer lighting where possible, and minimal background activity.
These sessions run every other Sunday afternoon and are open to all visitors who would benefit from or simply prefer a calmer experience. There’s no background music and fewer visitors, creating a gentler pace to explore the museum.
You’ll have access to the same exhibitions and displays, with the added benefit of a more relaxed atmosphere.
You can download our Sensory Map and Easy Read Guide (below), to help you know what to expect before your visit. These are also available to collect from reception. Â

We apologise that occasionally, due to other events taking place in the museum, we may be unable to guarantee a sensory-friendly environment. In such cases, we may need to cancel the scheduled sensory-friendly session. We understand that this can be disruptive and will only make cancellations when absolutely necessary. We recommend checking this page regularly for the latest updates.
