Our team of friendly and dedicated volunteers ensures the Museum operates at a high standard. We have a wide range of volunteer roles available to suit the skills and interests of different people. Please have a look at our role descriptions and see which one would suit you. We warmly welcome applications from a wide range of backgrounds, particularly the local community.

There are currently five volunteering roles at the Museum of Brands

Museum Assistant

As a Museum Assistant, you will provide a warm welcome to the Museum, in addition to assisting visitors with information and customer services.

Availability: Monday to Sunday
Time: half day, full day
Commitment: 3 months

Role Description

Learning Volunteers

As a Learning Volunteer at the Museum, there are opportunities to assist our Learning Programme, attracting learners from Early Years to Higher Education.

Availability: Monday to Friday

Role Description

Wellbeing Session Leader

As a Wellbeing Session Leader, you will lead reminiscing sessions at dementia care homes and day centres offering meaningful social engagement for people living with dementia.

Availability: Monday to Friday
Time: half day, full day
Commitment: 3 months

Role Description

Wellbeing Programme Volunteer

As a Volunteer of this programme, you will assist with the facilitation of reminiscing activities, including interacting with people living with dementia and care home staff, as well as creating and distributing multisensory resources.

Role Description

Garden Volunteers

We are particularly looking for garden volunteers with some experience, able to support with garden maintenance in our award winning memorial garden, including lifting, ladder work and sawing.

How to Apply

Note for applicants

We do not offer short work placements, however, we strongly encourage younger students to gain experience with us by applying for volunteering (minimum three months for four hours per week). Unfortunately, we cannot take on volunteers under 18 years of age. Weekend volunteering is available to help fit around school and college commitments.
