Overview:
The world is on fire. From habitat loss and animal extinction to river pollution, flooding and disease, there is an overwhelming quantity of environmental issues. However, across the globe, innovative approaches to these problems using play and games has seen a genuine impact that gives us hope; from how we raise public awareness of issues as well as donations, to long-term consumer behaviour change, fostering collaborations between talent and tech, and much more.
In short, Gamification is being used to transform engagement with sustainability and the environment.
In this workshop, Gamification Designer and Author, Betty Adamou, shares examples from around the world on how companies big and small are harnessing play and games to create real-world change, while collecting valuable data and insight. In this workshop, as well as seeing real game examples and learning about the science and psychology of gamification, you'll also have a go at designing and presenting your very own environmental game in a group.
